Tennessee Institute for Pre-Law (formerly TPLF)

Greetings:

I would like to bring you up to date on our new pre-law summer program for Tennessee residents, established as a result of a state-wide diversity initiative. The Tennessee Institute for Pre-Law (TIP) is an admission-by-performance program aimed at underrepresented students who are Tennessee residents. Approximately 20 students will be admitted to the alternative admission level of TIP summer program. These students must graduate by May of 2007 to be eligible.

Additionally, we are seeking an additional 10 – 15 rising juniors and rising seniors to participate in the undergraduate levels of the program which will primarily focus on LSAT Preparation.

The TIP program seeks students from economically and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as students from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Tennessee residents from all racial and ethnic backgrounds are eligible to apply. TIP participants in the alternative admissions level who successfully complete the summer program are offered admission to either state-assisted law school.

Please share this information with aspiring law students at your undergraduate institution. If you know students who are interested in applying to this summer pre-law program, please have them contact our office for an application at 901-678-2528 or visit our website at www.law.memphis.edu/admissions/tip.htm for more information.
