The Interdisciplinary Studies office of the College of Arts and Sciences was created in October of 1997 and serves as home to a wide range of academic programs and research centers whose content and mission transcend the boundaries of the traditional academic departments.

The general function of the Interdisciplinary Studies office is to provide support services to the individual interdisciplinary programs, including budget oversight, organization of programs and conferences, publications, web site management, general clerical support, and public relations.

Most importantly, the Interdisciplinary Studies office serves as a resource and clearinghouse for information about each of the individual programs.
