Program Overview The University of Memphis' Master of Health Administration Degree Program is proud to be one of only 70 graduate programs accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Educations (CAHME).
Mission StatementThe mission of the University of Memphis MHA program is threefold: - to provide a quality educational experience and the theoretical background that will prepare students for leadership roles in a variety of health care institutions and settings,
- to conduct research and produce scholarly materials that both strengthen the Program's ability to fulfill its educational mission and advance knowledge, and
- to serve as a resource to health care organizations and the community.
Goal 1 - To provide a quality educational experience that examines theoretical applications and provides experiential learning to prepare students for entry level positions and/or career progression to senior management and leadership roles in a variety of healthcare institutions and settings. Goal 2 - To engage in research and scholarly productivity, in order to both strengthen the Program's ability to fulfill its educational mission and advance knowledge about the effective financing and delivery of health services administration, taking advantage of interdisciplinary opportunities where appropriate. Goal 3 - To serve as a resource to healthcare organizations and programs at the local and regional levels through service and outreach activities and develop viable relationships with healthcare organizations to provide educational experiences for our students and service/outreach/research opportunities for faculty.
