GOAL 5. INCREASE EXTERNAL SUPPORT.

Objectives

Increase grants and contracts by 25% per year.

By increasing the amount of external grant funding to faculty in the College, we will enhance the reputation of degree programs and improve our ability to attract top faculty and graduate students. In order to do this, the College must attain start up parity with peer institutions and strategically hire faculty with established, grant-funded research programs. Fiscal Year 2003 grant funding in the College was $18,000,000. The three-year target is $29,000,000. The five-year target is $45,000,000.

Increase annual giving by 20% per year.

The College will work with the director of development in spring 2004 to establish baseline data and set targets.
