Academic Summary
Reginald Martin is Past Director of Professional Writing Programs and has served as Special Assistant to the President at The University of Memphis. Martin has won the Ford Foundation Award and the American Council on Education Award. He has taught at many institutions, including The University of Pennsylvania, Michigan State University, and Harvard University. Martin also chaired the first committee for the formation of an African-American literature concentration in the Department of English at The University of Memphis. His research interests include technical writing instruction for urban communities and literacy training. Dr. Martin holds five earned degrees, including two terminal degrees: an M.F.A. in Longer Prose and a Ph.D. in Modern Letters.
