Academic Summary
Kristen Iversen is the author of the bestselling biography Molly Brown: Unraveling the Myth, winner of the Colorado Book Award for Biography and the Barbara Sudler Award for Nonfiction. Her work has appeared in The Dickinson Review, The Bloomsbury Review, The Alaska Quarterly, The Flannery O'Connor Bulletin, and others, and her short story collection, The Shape of a Secret, was a finalist in the Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction. She is currently completing Full Body Burden: A Memoir of Rocky Flats. Iversen has been featured on A & E Biography, The History Channel, The Today Show, the Fox News Network, and National Public Radio. A popular A & E television biography, Molly Brown: An American Original, was based on Iversen's work. A travel writer in Europe for several years, Iversen teaches creative nonfiction and fiction in the Creative Writing Program at The University of Memphis. Kristen Iversen is Faculty Editor of The Pinch, formerly River City, the literary journal of The University of Memphis, and she also coordinates the MFA newsletter.
